A useful DWG needs clean geometry, a reliable scale and a structure that supports continued work. Vector PDFs can often be converted quickly. Difficult files may require cleanup or manual redrawing to remove broken lines, duplicate objects and unusable text.

Our conversion process

1. Upload: send the original PDF and choose DWG as the requested format.
2. Assessment: we determine whether the PDF contains vector information or scanned pixels.
3. Conversion: usable geometry is extracted and problematic content is identified.
4. Quality check: scale, lines, text and general editability are reviewed.
5. Delivery: you receive the CAD output or a quotation when manual work is required.

Vector PDF or scanned PDF?

A vector PDF normally contains actual lines, curves and text and is usually the best source for conversion. A scanned PDF is an image of a drawing. It can still become CAD, but it often needs vectorisation and manual correction. Read our scanned PDF to DWG guide for more detail.

What to send

• The original PDF rather than a screenshot
• A known dimension if the scale is uncertain
• The required DWG version when your software has restrictions
• A short note explaining how the file will be used

Clear scope before manual work

Uploading a file is not an instruction to start chargeable manual work. If the drawing needs cleanup or redrawing, you receive a clear assessment or quotation first.
